Rociel was the most beautiful, noble, charming creature in all creation. With crystalline hair refracting the light and eyes like gold, he inspired awe and desire in his fellow angels. For all his power, Rociel is small and frail in appearance. One of the main enigmas of his creation and decay is the fact he is actually getting younger. At first I had some big theory about this, involving his link to his twin sister and her soul being attached to a sixteen year old boy. Now I just assume its part of his whole meta-temporal nature.

He is famously obsessed with his own beauty. He has to be told that he is beautiful all the time. Especially by Katan. Despite this, he still feels that he is ugly and disgusting. Before he went mad, Rociel was beautiful. Afterwards, I think he's just sex on legs. There's something very wanton and sluttish the way he uses his body. To be honest, this site is a shrine to mad Rociel. The way he is throughout the AS storyline. And perhaps he's tormented and insecure, mainly I think he's just vain. In the manga, it is made clear that the earlier Rociel, when he God's adored second in command, was righteous and virtuous. As he goes mad, he becomes more and more volatile, childish and destructive.

He is very sexual. Every pose he strikes is wanton and provocative. He seems just as happy naked as he does clothed, again making me think he doesn't really believe he's so ugly. The clothes he does choose are more often than not, women's clothes. We see him in a skirt, in stiletto boots, in stockings and suspenders even. There is a strong suggestion that he views his sexuality as female, in the way he uses it. And he does frequently make use of his body, to seduce and influence other male characters. Rociel is one of those uber-sexy ukes, who despite holding a position of power are always going to be on the bottom in the bedroom.

Of course, Rociel is as casual with his affections and his body as one with his power could afford to be. Tragic and insane he may be, but it can't be denied he's also a vamp, a slut and he knows everyone is in love with him. He's as self-centred as a gyroscope and emotionally volatile. It is the selfless, loyal, /obsessed/ Katan who suffers most with Rociel's confusing affections.
