And what of Lucifer? Towards the end, he took him as an ally, a resource. Tried to take him as a lover. You don't exactly have to read behind the lines to figure that one out. The only question would be why? Why does he then seem to turn on loyal, confused Katan and throw himself at the cold, lethal lord of hell? It seems to be another symptom of his intense, passionate self-loathing. Lucifer, this powerful death machine, at the same time enslaved to the bloodstone, is as terrible, and almost pathetic as Rociel himself. He sees his own reflection there.

It's not as if he needs to employ his charms to win over Lucifer. He has the bloodstone. It's purely sexual, and purely one sided. Lucifer never shows an interest in Rociel (not that that makes any difference) It's the other twin he's waiting for. Perhaps Rociel likes that, that cold indifference. It fits nicely with his worthless, sluttish self-image at that point in the storyline.
